PTSD

When someone is living with PTSD, it’s often not the event itself that keeps them stuck. It’s the trauma that was never fully processed and trauma isn’t just the worst moment. It includes what led up to it, how you felt during it, what happened afterward, and how others responded to you at the time.

PTSD

When someone is living with PTSD, it’s often not the event itself that keeps them stuck. It’s the trauma that was never fully processed and trauma isn’t just the worst moment. It includes what led up to it, how you felt during it, what happened afterward, and how others responded to you at the time.

In my work, we break the experience down into these different phases and address each one individually

Together, we identify the beliefs your brain formed in those moments, beliefs that made sense at the time but aren’t necessarily true anymore. We then gently reframe them, allowing the brain to properly process what happened. This process is highly effective in releasing the emotional charge of trauma, reducing PTSD symptoms, helping clients move forward feeling free, grounded, and able to live free.

Why My Approach Is So Effective for PTSD

Many people with PTSD have already tried therapy, coping strategies, or talking about what happened, yet they still feel stuck. That’s because PTSD isn’t caused by the event alone. It’s caused by trauma that was never fully processed at the time it occurred.

My work is successful because I don’t treat trauma as a single moment. I work with the entire experience.

Trauma includes:

  • What happened before the event
  • What you felt and believed during it
  • What happened afterwards
  • How others responded to you, or didn’t

Each of these moments shapes the beliefs your brain formed to survive. Those beliefs were protective at the time, but they can keep you trapped long after the danger has passed.

The Goal Isn’t Coping – It’s Freedom

My goal isn’t to help you manage PTSD for the rest of your life. It’s to help your brain finish what it couldn’t do back then, so you’re no longer living as if the trauma is still happening.

When trauma is truly processed, it loses its grip, and you’re free to move forward.

Why Clients See Real Change

My success rate is high because this approach works with the brain, not against it. Once the trauma is properly processed, the symptoms no longer need to persist. The nervous system can stand down. The mind no longer must stay hyper-alert, numb, or stuck in the past.

Clients often report:

  • Reduced or eliminated PTSD symptoms
  • Emotional relief and clarity
  • A renewed sense of safety and control
  • Freedom to live fully in the present rather than the aftermath of trauma

The Models I Work Within

I use highly structured, proven models that focus on how the brain processes trauma, not just how we talk about it. These models allow us to safely break the experience into manageable parts and work with each one individually.

Rather than reliving the trauma, we:

  • Identify the beliefs formed at key moments
  • Understand why they made sense at the time
  • Gently reframe them from a present-day perspective
  • Allow the nervous system to complete the processing that was interrupted finally

This is why clients often experience deep shifts, not just insight, but real emotional release.

Testimonials

“Since seeing Barbara I can honestly say she has changed my life around. I have had no panic attacks at all, I am more open and more social and I walk in to work straight away. I have had life throw some stuff at me and it wasn’t until a couple of days after I had realised this would normally make me panic and increase my anxiety but it hasn’t. What an incredible and professional lady.”
